Clinical Herbal Medicine
Clinical Herbal Medicine is a holistic approach to healing that goes beyond just addressing symptoms. It's a discipline where practitioners see the patient as a whole, with a deep understanding of both scientific and holistic principles.
In this practice, each individual is treated uniquely, taking into account various aspects of their health and life:
Evaluation of every bodily system and how they interact
Consideration of genetic predispositions
Examination of diet and lifestyle choices
Review of the patient's health and wellbeing history
Assessment of their environmental factors
Understanding of their current health concerns
With a strong foundation of knowledge in evidence-based health sciences such as pathophysiology, anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, nutrition, pharmacology, and pharmacognosy, as well as specialised knowledge in herbal pharmacology, phytotherapies, phytochemistry, and traditional practices, clinical herbalists ensure that their herbal prescriptions are not only traditional but also supported by contemporary scientific evidence.
They understand the ramifications, contraindications, and long-term usage benefits and effects of the herbs they prescribe for their patients.
