About

Photogenic Medicine Health Practice

At Phytogenic Medicine, we blend the power of evidence-based science with the art of holistic healing to offer cutting-edge, personalised health and wellness solutions. Our approach revolves around phytotherapies and nutrigenomics, delving deep into the world of plant-based medicine and genetic insights.

Based in the picturesque Blue Mountains of Australia, we operate as an online clinic, bringing our expertise to clients wherever they are. We take a comprehensive, integrative, and holistic approach to healthcare, considering every facet of your well-being. Our methodology combines scientific rigour with the wisdom of traditional plant medicine, rooted in naturopathic principles. Our goal is to create tailored, sustainable, and long-lasting changes in nutrition, healing, wellness, and lifestyle to not only address health issues but also enhance your overall quality of life.

To provide a complete picture of your health, we utilise both functional and general pathology testing. Additionally, we offer advanced assessments such as gut microbiome testing and nutrigenomics DNA testing, which provide a deeper understanding of your unique health profile. Using these insights, we offer personalised nutrigenomic reports and provide guidance on lifestyle and nutrition to help you optimise your well-being.

We believe in collaborative care and are open to working alongside your GP or specialist to ensure a holistic and supportive healthcare experience.

At Phytogenics Medicine, we have a special focus on neurodiversity and mental health. Our integrative therapies, combined with holistic dietary and lifestyle support, aim to enhance the quality of life for all individuals.

Clinical Herbal Medicine

Clinical Herbal Medicine is a holistic approach to healing that goes beyond just addressing symptoms. It's a discipline where practitioners see the patient as a whole, with a deep understanding of both scientific and holistic principles.

In this practice, each individual is treated uniquely, taking into account various aspects of their health and life:

  • Evaluation of every bodily system and how they interact

  • Consideration of genetic predispositions

  • Examination of diet and lifestyle choices

  • Review of the patient's health and wellbeing history

  • Assessment of their environmental factors

  • Understanding of their current health concerns

With a strong foundation of knowledge in evidence-based health sciences such as pathophysiology, anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, nutrition, pharmacology, and pharmacognosy, as well as specialised knowledge in herbal pharmacology, phytotherapies, phytochemistry, and traditional practices, clinical herbalists ensure that their herbal prescriptions are not only traditional but also supported by contemporary scientific evidence.

They understand the ramifications, contraindications, and long-term usage benefits and effects of the herbs they prescribe for their patients.
